Course Description

The race begins on South M right in front of the Reynolds Cancer Support House next to the Creekmore Park Tennis Courts. Head west on South M, then turn left onto Old Greenwood Road passing the Boy Scout office and Girls Incorporated. Turn left at South O Street and then right onto the access road behind the Church League Baseball Fields. At South S Street, turn right and then left to re-enter Old Greenwood Road. You are almost to mile marker #1 which is just before the Acme Brick overhead conveyor. The course continues on Old Greenwood with a gentle roll then moderate incline til just past mile marker #2 and the first water station. At Cliff Drive, turn left and enjoy “Horseshoe Bend”, a mostly wooded area with a nice view of the airport and south Fort Smith in the valley below. Horseshoe Bend includes one quick venture into a cul-de-sac (Seminole Circle) and mile marker #3. You’ll leave Horseshoe Bend at mile marker #4 continuing straight onto Valley Road next to Hardscrabble Country Club Golf Course. This section has a great roll to it. From here you’re headed to Hendricks and the one challenging hill that tops out at mile marker #5. At the top of the hill, turn right onto South W (2nd water station ahead), then left on South 40th, then left on South U and re-enter Hendricks. From here, you’ll enjoy a rolling course until you turn left on Wicklow and drop down the hill to mile marker #6 and the finish line back where you started.

Race History

The 2011 event featured a 10K race in addition to the traditional 5K.
