i am happy to paint/sharpie/charcoal in a ponytail to anyone who wants a girl. i will also add (i will try to keep this family friendly) other feminine features...uh, enhance the singlet? if necessary. for me personally i think its pretty accurate aside from the hair. ha ha.

Yep, I like that one too. It would look good on a team uniform and a wide range of other merchandise.

In any case, I think it is high time to take the next step here and select one.

I agree. We need to see what Mary wants to do. Have a vote a meeting or on the forum. At any rate I think we have enough logos to choose from.

Just thought I'd throw out some ideas of logo designs from other clubs. I took a pic of the Dallas Running Club logo at the DWR expo this past weekend.

Here's another that I found that incorporates a dome:

I really think we need to include something that really identifies with LR or Arkansas. As an example, the star is used in a lot of Dallas sports teams and the lone star is the symbol of texas. Just having a runner and the name just sounds too plain to me.

I'm not a fan of the State Capitol dome in the logo. Even though the finish line was relocated, I think most runners around here associate that image with the LR marathon.
And for people not from this area, it looks exactly like the Capitol Building in D.C. The fact that there is a Washington Running Club which uses the image, makes this point exactly.

Anyway, seems to me that we are over-thinking this. I think the words "Little Rock" somewhere on the logo probably do enough to identify with the city of "Little Rock". We are putting this on the team uniform, so the simpler, the better. Watch the college runners zip by next year at Chile Pepper and note their uniforms.
Or just look at the girls in Presto's avatar.
"Tulane". Simple, yet effective.
We can have a little more to it than that, but no need to make things overly complex. We'll be running too fast for anyone to appreciate an intricate design anyway Ohhhhh YEAH!

Absolutely. You'll notice that about Cabot's uniforms. You recognize the simple but striking color scheme on the singlet as a Cabot runner, but it is nearly impossible to read their actual name when they are running because of the fancy script lettering.

I also agree with brian on dans sons logo being great for tshirts,
in fact dan you think I can get him to make me one whether we use it officially or not ?

I was thinking we could put it on your mitten but since I hear that your hands have gotten
bigger over the holidays, and the mitten no longer fits, I suggest that the logo be implanted
directly on your cheek of choice.

All these logo's are really good. Is a running human a requirement?? How about a pack of running wolfes? That would take care of the gender debate and embody the predatory, visciously competitive nature of the LRRC team. Ohhhhh YEAH!

great point robert! i do like the new one by alison with the dude behind the club name. nice! i think the logo with the person in a dome looks like he is inside a wrinkly boob. nothing personal presto i just thought it was funny. if we want to identify with arkansas how about a big cartoon bill clinton with LRRC strategically placed on a certain happy body part. oh no! am i being innapropriate again? oh well. it has been said (LIES) that i have loose morals.

my friends know better Tim the Turk Tim the Turk Tim the Turk Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green
